FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Below is a list of the most commonly asked questions that we receive. Should you have any questions that cannot be answered below, don't hesitate to call.

What are the normal business hours of the police department?

The office of the police department is open between 8:00am-2:00pm Monday thru Friday. At that time a secretary is there to answer any questions you may have. Should you need to reach an officer outside of the office hours please dial 911.

What are the rules for overnight parking?

Any resident within the borough of Prospect Park may call the overnight parking number to report any vehicle they are having as a guest. A resident is permitted to call in a vehicle no more than 3 times during the calendar year. If a vehicle needs to be parked longer than one night, you must call and get the approval of a police officer for the extended duration. The caller needs to leave the location that the vehicle is being parked, as well as the Make/Model, and License Plate Number of the vehicle on our answering machine. Failure to provide all the information needed can result in the issuance of a parking ticket. The number for Overnight Parking is (610) 534-PARK (7275).


3.

What is the curfew in the Borough of Prospect Park?

It shall be unlawful for any child or children under the age of 18 years to be on the streets of the Borough alone or in groups any later than 10:30pm Sunday thru Thursday or later than 11:00pm Friday and Saturday. Failure to abide by this rule can lead to the issuance of a citation.
