Best Day on Force

I have had many great days while a member of the Prospect Park Police Department.  Some have been helping an elderly resident light her stove so she could cook dinner, locating persons stolen property, and helping lost children find their "frantic" parents.  The gratification in all of the above is hearing the person or people say "Thank You".

Worst Day on Force

I was working as a uniformed officer when a call went out that a hold up was in progress at a pharmacy in a neighboring town.  I was met at the pharmacy's front door by the subject who had his firearm drawn and cocked.  We both stood their, for what seemed to be hours but in actuality was a few seconds, with our guns pointed at one another.  The subject then became very agitated, and as I was just about to fire my weapon, Sgt. Robert Hornberger came from the rear of the subject and place a "bear hug" on the subject and we were able to remove his weapon without a shot fired.

Special Duties

I oversee the day to day operations of the Police Department making sure that the officers are trained, shifts are covered, school crossings are properly staffed, and administrative duties such as budgets, purchases, and hiring of part-time and full-time officers are fulfilled.
