Prospect Park Police Vehicles Below you will be taken on a virtual tour of the Prospect Park Police 1999 marked Ford Explorer. You will be introduced to the equipment that the officers have at their disposal to assist the residents of Prospect Park. As you enter the police vehicle, you will notice that it is set up much like any other Explorer that you see on the road today. Don't be fooled, these trucks are built especially for police use, and are designed to take the abuse that comes with law enforcement. Remember, these vehicles are on the road 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In the above picture, you see the officers communication system. From this small control panel, the officer can send and receive radio transmissions to and from local agencies as well as the 911 dispatch center. The officer also has control of the vehicles lights and sirens, as well as a public address system. Just to the bottom right of this picture, you will notice that all police vehicles carry portable flashlights that are always at the officers disposal. Next you see the latest addition to all the police vehicles in Prospect Park. These are mobile communication data ports. From these units the officers will have the ability to access past reports, view profiles of stopped motorists, and a variety of other uses. Along with the above pictured tools, Prospect Park Police also has the Low Jack system installed in their police vehicles. Low Jack is a service that can be purchased by citizens, and in the event that your car is stolen, the system is activated. Once the system is activated, it sends out radio transmissions that are detected by the units installed in police vehicles. If a stolen car is detected, it automatically alerts the officer, and the officer will be able to track the stolen vehicle and hopefully catch the suspect red handed .
